Urban Sparks - VLC - Sheet Music/Backing Tracks
“Urban Sparks” takes students on a night-time drive through a futuristic city in a supercar. Turn on the neon lights, start the engine, and enjoy the ride through a world of glowing streets and urban sparks!
Designed as a first introduction to changing between the A and D strings, the piece uses a simple rhythmic pattern interspersed with bars of rest. This gives students space to develop a relaxed and controlled string-crossing movement while encouraging them to listen carefully and prepare for each change.
In the final section, the challenge increases: students must play faster, changing continuously between the A and D strings without the rests in between. A simple technical challenge that soon turns into an exciting adventure.
