Inspired by the classic game of tag, "You Can't Catch Me" is a lively and playful piece designed especially for absolute beginners. Written entirely on the open E string, students can focus on developing rhythm, pulse and musical confidence while enjoying the excitement of the game.

The piece introduces two contrasting rhythmic patterns: groups of five quavers and a pattern combining eight semiquavers with a quaver. A suggested text helps students connect the rhythms with the story and make the music more engaging.

Hidden in the second repeat, an accelerando gradually builds towards the finish, adding an extra challenge and a final burst of excitement.
