Petite - VLN - Sheet Music
Ready for ballet class? Step into the studio with “Petite,” a charming piece that brings the practice of ballet positions—plié, battement, relevé—to life! While it feels sweet and simple at first glance, it packs a clever technical punch, requiring students to handle both long and short bow strokes across the violin’s upper three strings.
Musical storytelling takes centre stage with a central section that captures a moment of frustration when something doesn’t quite work out—remember, it’s okay, we just keep trying! Everything resolves happily in the end, leading to a flawless finish. Backed by a simple piano accompaniment reminiscent of an authentic ballet class, this piece is as engaging as it is educational.
